TAASA Agency Member Trainings

The EMDR Training Center of Texas (ETCT), formerly Rick Levinson and Associates, is offering a series of low cost EMDR Basic Training courses to TAASA agencies throughout the state. Miracle Farm Residential and Retreat Center has generously offered to sponsor this Training in Brenham. Below are the specifics of this training.

EMDR Therapy Training Overview

Participants will learn via lecture, video, demonstrations, Q and A sessions, role play demonstrations, small group exercises and supervised practice sessions.

Each participant will experience EMDR as both clinician and client through two practice sessions each weekend. These practice sessions are facilitated by members of the training staff.

Twenty (20) CEU’s are given for each weekend.

Between Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 and then over the months following Weekend 2, group consultations sessions will be scheduled to assist in the integration of EMDR into clinical work. It is required that trainees take the skills learned in both weekends and begin to actively use EMDR. That work is then brought to consultation for review and support. Trainees may not participate in consultation sessions without having work to present and completion of the consultation sessions is required to complete this EMDR Therapy Training.

Consultation Hours

In addition to the two weekends, EMDRIA requires 10 hours of consultation (in group or individual settings) as an integral part of the Basic Training*. Consultation provides an important opportunity to integrate the information gained in the weekend trainings into day-to-day practice.

The training staff provides consultation in small group settings beginning in the weeks following Weekend 1 and continuing into the months following Weekend 2.

Participants can choose from a range of 2-hour groups held on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings to complete the 10-hour requirement. Depending on the geographic locations of the participants, some consultations will be available in local areas and the rest will be available by teleconference.

Note that this training requires participants to be utilizing EMDR with clients following Weekend 1 (with specified limits) and continuing after Weekend 2. Participation in consultation requires bringing that work into these group sessions for input and assistance.
